Eyelid Rejuvenation ![]() Laser Skin Rejuvenation In the past, wrinkles, creases, and discoloration of the skin brought on by sun were viewed as irreversible signs of aging. Today, laser skin resurfacing can correct the damages caused by weather and age to restore your youthful, energetic appearance. Dr. Stout uses a state-of-the-art laser to reduce facial lines, discoloring, and scars. The areas around the mouth and eyes are quick to show sun damage and wrinkles and are therefore popular areas for laser skin resurfacing, but the procedure can be used to treat any area, large or small. The laser skin resurfacing process works by vaporizing the top layer of dull, damaged, and discolored skin, then removing it. The heat of the laser helps tighten the collagen bundles in your skin, improving the texture and elasticity of it. In general, laser skin resurfacing creates little to no pain, though Dr. Stout administers a local anesthetic in conjunction with a sedative for the comfort of his patients. After undergoing laser skin resurfacing, patients are typically able to resume normal activities. Patients often experience some pinkness in the face for about two weeks after laser skin resurfacing. This pinkness resembles a sunburn, but carries none of the discomfort. For the first week, patients may use lotion on their face and after two weeks, makeup may be applied. Some people feel self-conscious during this time and choose to
postpone their normal activities; in the past, some have complained
of boredom. However, many patients have also found this to be a
perfect time to catch up on paperwork or other household projects. |
