Meet Dr. Warren Stout, Pasadena Ophthalmic Cosmetic Surgeon — Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology
Dr. Warren C. Stout, M.D., one of the founders of USC Doheny Eye Institute Refractive Laser Medical Center, is a highly trained Ohthalmic Plastic Surgeon located in Pasadena, California. Unlike many plastic surgeons in the Los Angeles area, Dr. Stout focuses exclusively in the eye region, having performed thousands of eye and eyelid surgeries over the past 20 years.
After completing his internship and residency at USC, Dr. Stout received his advanced fellowship training in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Miami's Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, a program rated #1 by U.S. News and World Report. He returned to Southern California to open his own private practice and to instruct other surgeons on the latest laser techniques at the USC Keck School of Medicine, where he still works as an Associate Professor.
Considered a pioneer in laser technology, Dr. Stout uses a laser to not only increase precision but also to decrease bruising and downtime, creating a result that is both subtle and natural. In addition to performing laser cosmetic procedures, Dr. Stout also uses his training for restorative purposes: removing and reconstructing areas affected by tumors, as well as repairing congenital problems, trauma, and other physicians' cosmetic surgery mishaps. His knowledge about the anatomy and aesthetics of the face provide him with the skills necessary for other non-invasive cosmetic procedures, such as Restylane®, Juvederm™, Botox® Cosmetic, Fraxel® Laser Treatments, IPL/Photofacial™ Treatments and Eyes by Thermage®.
In a world of overdone plastic surgery, Dr. Stout stands apart from other surgeons in that he provides his patients with a refreshed looked by simply restoring their eyes to a younger state. He considers plastic surgery an art form and believes in the credo that plastic surgery should enhance, as oppose to alter, the appearance of the patient.
Facilities
Located in Pasadena, Dr. Stout’s onsite surgery center in the Pasadena Towers is private, discreet and comfortable. The ambulatory (or out-patient) center, approved by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities Inc. provides all the comforts of a hospital, but for a fraction of the price.
Aside from the convenience and financial benefits onsite care provides, patients often feel more at ease when choosing a procedure at our facility than at a hospital, as they are familiar with the same staff and environment after their initial consultation. Each surgery is performed under the careful attention of an Anesthesiologist certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and hand picked by Dr. Stout. When performing laser eyelid surgery, Dr. Stout does not use general anesthesia. Rather, he uses Local Monitored Anesthetic Care (LMAC), a local anesthesia with an intravenous sedation, placing patients in a “twilight sleep.” In other words, patients are given just enough anesthesia to be comfortable and have a pleasant experience, but are not overly sedated.
Dr. Stout’s surgery center in Pasadena makes for a private and affordable experience, as well as a surgery that is simple, safe, and comfortable.
